Habitat: Upper to mid-inter-tidal zone – high rocks and ledges. Uses: Dena'ina dry Fucus and use it as seasoning. A choice seaweed, eaten raw or cooked in soup or stir-fried. Turns bright green when heated. Used as a blood anticoagulant, for its iodine, and against obesity and goiter. Sold dried in
U. S. for "bladderwrack tea." Good
source for fertilizer and good mulch. Special
